Project Scope
Project Maplewood was built on the tension between two aesthetics that rarely share the same space: contemporary precision and retro warmth. The design resolved this tension by treating each as a complement to the other: clean lines and current forms were softened with vintage-inspired finishes, warm tones, and materials with a sense of history.
Colour was used with particular care. A palette of neutrals was established as a foundation, with warm and cool accents introduced selectively to create rhythm and visual interest without disruption. The overall effect is a home that feels at once current and timeless.
The completed interior achieves the distinctive quality the client wanted: a home with personality and warmth that doesn't feel dated or derivative. The balance of contemporary and retro references is handled with enough subtlety that the space reads as wholly its own.
